In the beginning of the 20th century, Spilios Panagiotopoulos started to cultivate his olive trees in Filiatra, in order to extract their oil and provide the best food for his family. With love and respect for the olive tree, he took care of it all year long, and it repaid him with its oil. The nutritional and beneficial properties of the olive oil enabled the family of Spilios Panagiotopoulos and his children to grow up during the difficult years of the war. The love, care and respect for the tree continued with Fanis Panagiotopoulos, son of Spilios. Fanis has been cultivating and nursing his father’s olive trees for over 70 years, with the same purpose, to provide the best food for his family.
